Editor in Chief

Jerneja Prostor, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of University of Maribor. After passing the state law examination in 2009, she began working in the financial sector, in an asset management company in Ljubljana. She has been employed at the Faculty since September 2011, primarily specialising in company law and law of commercial contracts.

In 2013, she earned her master's degree in science at the same faculty, with a thesis on EU company law.

As a doctoral student, she continued her studies for several months at the Faculty of Law of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, and visited the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance in Munich. In September 2018, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, she successfully defended her dissertation entitled Corporate Restitution – The Protection of Creditors of Limited Liability Companies with Tied-up Capital Provisions. She later revisited the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg and continued her scientific research. Within the framework of the Erasmus programme, she also visited the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest and the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Portucalense in Porto.

From April 2018 to July 2021, she worked as an associate at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia in the Department of Commercial Law.

She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific and professional articles published in prominent domestic and foreign legal journals and scientific monographs. She regularly attends professional and scientific conferences and consultations, and participates in domestic and foreign research projects. As a commentator, she also contributed to the Great Commentary on the Companies Act (Veliki komentar Zakona o gospodarskih družbah).
