Editorial policy

Focus and scope
Podjetje in delo (Company and Labour) is the leading Slovenian academic and professional journal for the field of commercial and labour law. Its aim is to create a space for the exchange of the latest scientific knowledge between experts active in company, contract, compensation and labour law. Peer-reviewed articles that employ the appropriate methodological and scientific approach and deal comprehensively with current issues at the national and international levels are accepted for publication. The journal aims to apprise readers of new developments and currents in contemporary legal science in the fields of commercial and labour law. It is aimed at academics, theorists and legal practitioners.


Peer review process
Articles are reviewed using double-blind peer review. Taking the content of the proposed article into account, the editor-in-chief appoints two independent peer reviewers in the publication process. The reviewers’ identity is not disclosed to the author and vice versa.


Submission process
Articles submitted for publication must be at a suitable linguistic level and compiled in accordance with the Instructions to Authors of Articles in Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour. The editorial board may reject non-compliant articles and suspend the publication procedure. Only original academic and specialist articles that have not previously been published and are not in the process of being accepted for publication in other journals may be published in Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour. The typology of documents and work for the maintenance of bibliographies within the COBISS system (http://cobiss.izum.si/ -> Personal bibliographies) is adhered to when determining which category an article should be placed in. Authors must adhere to the provisions of the Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour Publication Ethics Statement. Only persons who have actually contributed to the writing of an article may be stated as authors. Authors must adhere to the prohibition on plagiarism. Other literature and other authors must be properly cited in accordance with the Instructions to Authors of Articles in Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour. The author shall receive confirmation of receipt by email directly upon submitting an article to the Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour website. The editor-in-chief shall, as a rule, send the author a reply containing the peer reviewers’ assessment within two months. The editor-in-chief’s reply shall contain one of the following options: (1) acceptance of the article for publication on the basis of two positive peer reviews, (2) acceptance of the article for publication with the proviso that the article is to be amended or supplemented (the author may decide, on the basis of the reviewers’ comments, to redesign the article in accordance with the suggestions made) or (3) rejection of the article, with suitable reasons for rejection given.


Publication frequency and languages
Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour has been published under this title since 1990. Eight editions of the journal appear every year: four single issues (1, 2, 5, 8) and two double issues (3-4, 6-7). The journal publishes articles in Slovenian and English and, occasionally, in German and Croatian. The titles, abstracts and key words of all articles are translated into English.


Availability of the journal
Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour is not freely available. An annual subscription to the journal costs EUR 210.06. The price per individual single issue is EUR 29.20. The price per double issue no 3-4 is EUR 58.40 and the price per double issue no 6-7 is EUR 95. The titles, abstracts and key words of all articles are publicly available in Slovenian and English on the journal’s website.


Copyright
By submitting an article for publication, the author transfers his/her copyright to IUS SOFTWARE (GV Založba). By submitting the article, the author also consents to publication in the printed and electronic edition of Podjetje in delo/Company and Labour, and to publication of the relevant information on the journal’s website. The transfer of rights is unlimited in time and territory, and there are no restrictions as to the size of a print run. The author retains moral rights to his/her published work.
